Spring 2010 Radio Demo Kit

Posted on 04 May 2010 by Matthew Malone

Hi.
I’m Matthew “Malone” Donahue.
I’m a 24 year old born and raised in Chicago. After High School, I spent 4 years in career as a skilled machinist, managing the shop of an international manufacturing company, and moving on to become the youngest machinist at an established 100+ year machine shop. Although I thank them for all I’ve learned, I had the choice to live comfortably on those skills, or seek out my true passion. I chose radio.

Currently attending Columbia College Chicago in the Radio Broadcasting program, I’m a Senior and excelling in my field. As I near the end of my radio program, I am actively seeking employment in the radio industry beginning as soon as Summer 2010. I am confident in the fact that I can shine in many formats, many styles and any geographical location.

By no means am I narrow-minded. My aim is to provide a collection of my varied skills and talents to my station – on-air, production, writing, live event, photography, web, graphic design and more.
All of these skills will come with the dedication and determination that I present in every job I take on.

There is no location out of the question. The idea of relocation to work a new job, meet new people, and live in a new place is a very exciting prospect.
Although most of my work is styled for FM/rock radio, I have a strong interest in all formats.

If you would like anymore information, please e-mail me at vultuream@gmail.com

Bear in Heaven Interview for Alt Ctrl

Posted on 08 April 2010 by Matthew Malone

Matthew Malone and cohost TK sit down with Bear In Heaven before their sold out show with Cymbals Eat Guitars @ Schuba’s on Sunday, April 4th.

We left this interview unedited… because it’s the most fun we’ve ever had interviewing a band.
At random points of this interview, we are joined by Cymbals Eat Guitar’s Joseph D’Agostino, Schuba’s sound engineer and Freelance Whale’s Doris Cellar is hanging out on the side.

We’re also pretty sure that they lied to us for half the interview, but we don’t care… because they put on an amazing live show. Catch them this summer at Pitchfork Music Festival.
